Wood Mulch. While wood Mulch is the least expensive solution, it is difficult to maintain appropriate and consistent depth to provide adequate safety levels. It can also be expensive to maintain as it is recommended that wood mulch be replaced ever year.

Recycled Rubber Mulch. Similar to wood mulch is displaced during play making it hard to maintain as well. It is recommended that Rubber Mulch be topped off every year which can be costly over the lifetime of a playground.

Pour in Place. While Pour in place provides great fall protection, it can be heated by the sun to a surface temperature of 160 degrees which has lead to thousands of cases of burned hands and bare feet each year.  Did we mention that our playground mats are 25% less expensive than Pour-In-Place?
