The mats can be laid on the ground , simply covered in sand to help aeration of the growing grass and just let time do its thing and grass will grow through, allowing the root to be protected by the mat, or they can be left as matting if needed and can just be secured into the ground with anchor pins and zip tied together.
Once the grass has grown through , the mat will no longer be visible and the area can be mowed as normal.
